Brian Lindseth
Brian Lindseth is a PhD student in the Sociology and Science Studies programs at the University of California at San Diego. His interests include the coming into existence of new objects of analysis and the migration of techniques of analysis in the context of cold war era science and technology projects. Previous work has focused on the importance of diagnostic tools amid efforts to redefine American psychiatry in the 1960s through the 1980s. More recent explorations include the ways the emergence of ecosystem ecology under the aegis of Atomic Energy Commission patronage came to inform early voices in American environmentalism. Future projects include an exploration of the emergence of energy as a more or less coherent field of intervention in the 1970s.
